This wonderful city has been destroyed and rebuilt seven times in its turbulent history with New Delhi being its latest incarnation. Red Fort

This is a mighty structure that was at one time the seat of the Mughal Empire in India. It contains many palaces and gardens that were made by the Mughal King Shahjahan in the year 1639. The entire fort is made up of red stone and other marbles. The palatial structure is very close to the railways stations and most tourists start their journey of the city with this old historical structure.

Qutab Minar

Qutab Minar is a minaret that is 73 meters tall. It is the tallest such minaret in India and also the oldest. It is made of bricks and makes people wonder how it stands erect after so many centuries with no cement having been used in its construction. This ancient monument is open on all days and tourists take their photographs standing in front of this minaret.

Jama Maszid

This is an imposing structure that is the largest mosque in India. Around 25000 devotees can say their prayers at the same time inside the sprawling complex. It was made around 1650 AD. If you go to the top of its southern tower, you can catch a stunning view of the city of Delhi. You have to be properly dressed to be allowed inside the JamaMaszid complex. Lotus Temple

This is a very famous Bahai temple shaped like a lotus. Tourists line up to see this wonderful structure at night when it is beautifully lit up with lights. This temple is made with white marble. The temple is surrounded by many gardens and ponds where tourists relax and enjoy.

Akshardham Temple

Akshardham temple in New Delhi is a huge structure that embodies Hindu culture and religion. It is a beautiful temple with breathtaking architecture that embodies ancient Indian traditions and religious and spiritual messages.

Jantar Mantar

This is an ancient observatory made by Raja Jai Singh in the year 1725. It has a sundial that tells the correct time of the day on the basis of movement of the earth around the sun.

Iskcon Temple

This huge temple is also known as Hare Krishna temple as it contains many beautiful idols of Lord Krishna. The temple is made of red stone and beautifully blends traditional Hindu architecture with modern architecture.

Rashtrapati Bhawan

This is the official residence of the President of India that was once used as the residence of the viceroys of British India. This sprawling structure was designed by famous architect Edwin Lutyens and completed in the year 1930. The building has a beautiful garden called Mughal Garden that is visited by many visitors coming to Delhi.

Birla Mandir

This is a huge temple devoted to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi. It was built by industrialist G. D. Birla and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi. This temple is one of the most prominent temples in India.

Gandhi Smriti

Gandhi Smriti is a must visit place for all the tourists interested in the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. He is called the Father of the Nation. You can see the exact spot on which he was assassinated and also the house where he lived for more than three months before his assassination. You can also see the prayer ground where Bapu held mass prayers every evening.

India Gate

This is a huge war memorial in the heart of New Delhi that was built to commemorate the bravery of the soldiers who died fighting for the British army during WW I. It looks majestic at night with lights and tourists spend time in the gardens surrounding this structure.
