Warning is also an indication of danger. The main difference between warning and caution is that warning refers to a severe danger than caution. It indicates of a hazard that could cause severe personal injury, death, or substantial property damage if ignored. For example, you might have noticed warning signs near deep rivers, or lakes indicating that it is dangerous to bathe in the river. The term warning is used here because ignoring the warning can result in death. In sign posts, a warning is displayed on a red or orange background.
