This program is administered by Paragon Testing Enterprises, which is a subsidiary of the University of Columbus. This is a computer based test; even the speaking test is conducted through the computer.

There are two versions of this test: CELPIP-General, and CELPIP-General LS. CELPIP-General is designed for those who need to prove their English-language skills for immigration to Canada under the Federal Skilled Trades Program, Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, Start-up Visa Program, and various Provincial Nominee Programs, or for employment reasons. This test assesses all four language skills (reading, speaking, listening and writing) of the candidates. CELPIP-General LS test is designed for those who need to prove their listening and speaking skills to apply for Canadian citizenship. Therefore, this test specifically assesses the listening and speaking skills of the candidates.

What is IELT

IELTS is short for International English Language Testing System. This is an English language proficiency test for non-native English speakers. This is one of the most popular English tests in the world and is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge English Language Assessment, It is accepted by many countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zeland and the UK.

This test assesses the reading, writing, listening and speaking skills of the candidates. There are two modules in the test: Academic Module and General Training Module.
