The main purpose of a letter of recommendation is to recommend someone for a certain position. So, a letter of recommendation should always describe the positive qualities of that person. But, this doesn’t’ mean you have to lie about that person’s qualities; you can simply neglect negative aspects and focus on the positive qualities.
