Difference Between LG G4 and Sony Xperia Z5 Premium

Main Difference – LG G4 vs. Xperia Z5 Premium

The main difference between LG G4 and Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is, LG G4 comes with an older processor which is believed to perform well while consuming less power and a better front facing camera whereas Xperia Z5 has the first ever 4K display which is the best detail display produced so far, and a rear camera with greater details. Both these phones have unique designs. The 4K display is razor sharp but consumes more power to keep it alive. Sometimes it makes us wonder whether such a display is ever needed to be developed as that amount of detail may not be distinguishable by the naked eye. Even though this may be true, we will have to wait and see the outcome; only time will if this feature is accepted well by the users. Let us take a closer look at both the devices and identify the different features they have to offer.

LG G4 Review – Features and Specifications

The design of the LG G4, which has improved drastically in the past few years, is unique and eye-catching. In addition to the design, the Quad HD Display coupled with the high-resolution camera gives the phone an impressive performance boost. The screen is accurate enough that it could take the top position in the market. Although it may seem as an iterative model followed by the LG G4, it is still an awesome smartphone which anyone would like to try out.

Design

The front of the phone is as flat as it could get while slight curve on the back makes it fit comfortably in the hand. The curve has a radius of 3000mm which is noticeable on the device. The curve is almost noticeable which looks as if it is flat when viewed by the naked eye. The main reason for the curve is to make the display not touch the whole of the flat surface when it is placed face down. .  The LG G4 can be considered an evolved version of its predecessor the LG G3. If we are to compare the phones from the front end, it would seem as if both do not possess any differences at all. Only the bezel will be a bit different; the bezel on both the phones is thin, which is noteworthy. The edges have been squared off in comparison with the previous models. This sometimes makes it harder to use the phone in one hand. In general, one hand usability is difficult with this phone. The top ends of the phone cannot be reached easily if the phone is used by one hand which is an inconvenience. The glass is placed inside the plastic frame which protects the display from drops in a way. The top end of the plastic frame comes with an IR sensor which is able to control TVs and appliances.

The back of the phone comes with tanned leather which is an innovative move from LG’s point of view. This is somewhat a luxurious approach too.

Camera

The LG rear camera, which has been placed on the top back of the phone, boasts a 16 megapixel, accompanied by a two-tone LED flash. On the left of the LEDs is an infrared autofocus module. The front-facing camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels which is a great detail for selfie lovers. The images are brighter and crisper compared with other leading phones in the market. The aperture of the device is f/1.8 which is a great value to capture detailed images.  The sensor size of the camera is ½.6 inches which enhance the image with also the help of a color spectrum sensor which is used to scan what the camera is pointed at before the shot. The LG G4 comes with a full manual mode which also has the ability to shoot RAW photos.

The front-facing camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels which provides great detail for selfies, but the aperture is not as impressive as the one on the rear of the phone at f/2.0. The cameras are able to shoot at 4K, which is also a great option to have. This 4K video feature can be considered to be even better than some of the leading smartphones that have been released recently.

Connectivity

At the bottom of the smart device, there is a micro USB port which can be used for data transfer, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microphone port which can be plugged into a microphone. Other than these ports there is nothing on the sides due to the trademark feature of LG having its power button and volume buttons on the back of the phone. This time, the power button is a bit smaller which makes it a bit hard to feel. The brightness of the display as well as the color reproduction is also more natural. The screen can be said to be perfect due to the different type of liquid crystal displays and their vertical alignment which allows the passage of more light. The backlight is also different due to the improved backlight which produces organic colors.

Display

The display of the phone is somewhat unique when compared with other phones in the market mainly aiming at being unique. The display is considerable dark, the size of the display stands at 5.5 inches which use IPS Quantum technology. It could be said to be one of the best smartphone displays in the industry.  One of the features of the LG G4’s display is the fact that the images are not overly saturated like the AMOLED Samsung displays we have come to know. The display, in summary, is able to recreate an image of the real world than making it artificial by the use of effects like saturation. The only notable downside of the display is that when it is the viewed from an angle, the vibrancy of the display is a bit lost causing the image quality to drop as well.

Performance

The power for the smart device is provided by the Snapdragon 808 which has a hexa-core processor. But this is a cheaper processor when compared with the more powerful Snapdragon 810 processor which is also the latest version. However, the Snapdragon 810 is also known to have heating issues which may have led to deciding on the older chipset over the new one.  The graphical processing unit is powered by the Adreno 418 GPU, which is a lower end chipset, but able to pack a decent punch on the graphics. The apps are fired up without any delay whatsoever meaning that the phone is responsive.

Battery capacity

The capacity of the battery is a decent 3000mAh which is capable of lasting throughout the day. The removable battery is a notable feature since this is not found in many new smartphones.

The snapdragon 808 consumes less power than the latest chipset, and the IPS display is also considered to do the same when compared to the AMOLED displays. This means the battery will be able to last for a longer period of time when compared with its rivals.

Audio

The speaker which have been installed on the phone is better compared with the Samsung speakers and produces good sound when producing high volumes. Even when paired with Bluetooth devices, the sound reaches the device without any latency which is great.Difference between LG G4 and Sony Xperia Z5 Premium

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Review – Features and Specifications

The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is the first ever smartphone to use a 4K screen, and this screen can be highlighted as the most notable feature of the phone. This is an expensive phone which is bigger in size.

Design

The design of the phone is unique as it features a gold, silver and black mirrored finish that gives the phone a premium look. The black and gold version of the phone are reflective, but the silver version of the phone has a back that just look like a mirror. The only problem with such a finish is it attracts finger prints really fast. Although the mirror finish looks awesome on the phone, fingerprints will be a major problem if it is used throughout the day. The black option has a less premium look when compared to the other two options.

It can be used by one hand but using both hands is recommended as it could easily fall off the hand due to its larger size. The power button also works as a fingerprint scanner which is a useful and secure option. The fingerprint scanner is responsive and accurate.

Display

The phone is a larger version of the Sony Xperia Z5, which comes with a display size of 5.5 inches. The resolution of the camera is a staggering 3840X 2160 pixels. This is the first smartphone to come with a 4K display. The pixels density of the display is an insane 801ppi. The problem with this type of display is, it consumes more power and sometimes cannot be distinguished by the naked eye. This will cause the battery to be affected and will cause it to drain sooner rather than later.

The screen is absolutely beautiful and even if closely viewed, a pixel cannot be pointed out due to the super sharpness of the screen. Compared with the other Xperia Z5’s, the display seems to be a bit dimmer due to the enormous amount of pixels the backlight has to travel through. The colors are realistic but not vibrant at the same time. This is a similar feature which comes with the LG G4 as well.

Camera

The rear camera has a resolution of 23 megapixels which comes with autofocus capabilities, digital zoom with no loss on image quality and has image stabilization capabilities which have been improved. This enables the phone to perform well in low light conditions. The focus speeds are impressive, and the image clarity on the captured photos are great.

Battery

The battery capacity of the device stands at 3430mAh which could last up to two days with the help of a static image on the screen which helps the CPU to rest and save power.

The power for the device is provided by the Snapdragon 810 processor which also come with ample memory of 3GB. Main Difference - LG G4 vs. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium
