There is only one direct train between Hyderabad and Varanasi. You have to board the train from Secunderabad and get down on Varanasi junction as the train goes all the way to Patna. It is called Patna Express or SC PNBE Express and its number is 12791. This train departs from Secunderabad at 10 AM and arrives at Varanasi at 14:30 the next day. The train runs on all 7 days of the week, and the fare from Hyderabad to Varanasi is Rupees 600 for the sleeper class.
As this is the only direct train from Hyderabad to Varanasi, it is better to get your berths reserved through prior booking. This train has a pantry car attached to look after your food requirements at night. There is both vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian food available inside the train.

It is a long 28-hour journey, and you must carry snacks and fruits along with you though these things are available on important stations along the route. The fare for 3rd AC in this train is Rupees 1554 which is still just 1/3rd of the airfare between Hyderabad and Varanasi.
