Android 5.0 Lollipop came with an option called “do not disturb” mode, with the volume controls. When this mode was activated, notifications were not only come through; only Priority contacts were able to contact the user. The alarm had the option to be exempted in this mode so that the alarm does not need to be missed due to this feature.
With the release of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, this feature was removed, but it has been reintroduced to the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Now new features like turning on this mode at a certain point or activating this mode after an alarm are available.
